Job Description

Are you an Automation Engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges across robotics, industrial control systems, and infrastructure?

Do you thrive in environments where no two days are the same, combining hands-on engineering with software, networking, and systems support?

We're looking for a technically curious engineer to join a growing engineering team supporting advanced automated production and robotic systems. This is an opportunity to work with cutting-edge automation technology, diagnose challenging system-level issues, and play a key role in keeping highly automated operations running at peak performance.

The Role

As an Automation Engineer, you'll work across hardware, software, networking, and control systems to ensure reliable operation of sophisticated robotic environments. You'll collaborate with engineering, operations, and technical support teams to identify issues, implement improvements, and contribute to the ongoing evolution of automation systems.

  • Troubleshooting and maintaining advanced robotic, automation and control systems across hardware and software.
  • Diagnosing system-level faults to minimise downtime and improve operational performance.
  • Supporting PLC-based control systems, ladder logic, HMIs and industrial automation equipment.
  • Configuring, maintaining and supporting Linux and Windows server environments.
  • Deploying and maintaining infrastructure using tools such as Ansible, Git and Dell OpenManage.
  • Monitoring system performance and carrying out preventative maintenance activities.
  • Performing planned hardware quality assurance, maintenance and replacement activities.

What You'll Bring

You'll be successful in this role if you have experience in industrial automation, robotics or advanced manufacturing environments and enjoy solving technically demanding problems.

  • PLCs, ladder logic and industrial control systems.
  • Robotics programming and troubleshooting.
  • Industrial sensors including LiDAR, cameras, encoders, PLC I/O and safety devices.
  • Linux (Ubuntu/Debian) and Windows Server administration.
  • Python, Bash and/or PowerShell scripting.
  • Configuration management and automation tools such as Ansible, Docker, Git, KVM, QEMU, Prometheus or Grafana.

What's In It For You

  • Work with cutting-edge technology – Be at the forefront of robotics, automation and intelligent manufacturing systems.
  • Solve complex engineering challenges – Every day brings new technical problems across hardware, software, networking and industrial controls.
  • Varied and hands-on role – Split your time between troubleshooting, continuous improvement, infrastructure support and new system implementation.
  • Career development opportunities – Build your skills across multiple engineering disciplines with opportunities to grow as the business evolves.
  • Make a real impact – Play a key role in maintaining and improving highly automated production environments where your expertise directly influences operational performance.
