Senior Accountant

TERNA ENERGY, a member of the MASDAR Group, is seeking:

Senior Accountant

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and oversee the chart of accounts, ensuring accurate financial records and monthly provisions, according to Greek GAAP & IFRS.
• Manage reconciliations, and journal entries to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Support the preparation and submission of monthly & annual tax returns (VAT, WHT, Income Tax etc.).
• Ensure My Data platform compliance.
• Perform the preparation of Statutory Financial Statements in accordance with GAAP (knowledge of IFRS is a plus).
• Support the year-end audit process and coordinate with external auditors, ensuring smooth completion.
• Liaise with all parties involved in various accounting & tax issues (banks. external consultants etc.).
• Ensure the implementation of company policies, investor requirements, and regulatory standards.
• Participate in the preparation of budget and cash flow.
• Handle ad hoc financial requests across departments.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency.
• Assist with system enhancements and modifications to improve financial reporting.

Qualifications:

• BA in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration and/or related subjects.
• Master’s degree or relevant professional qualification are desirable.
• Minimum 5-7 years of accounting experience (Big 4 experience is a plus).
• Good knowledge of IFRS, Greek GAAP, and Tax Law.
• Excellent knowledge of English (both oral and written).
• Advanced MS Excel skills and familiarity with accounting software (Knowledge of the SAP ERP system will be considered an asset).
• Organizational skills, track record of meeting deadlines consistently, sense of responsibility, and team-oriented mindset.
