David Kennedy Recruitment is working with a leading Outsourcing/BPO company that is looking to recruit a German speaking AML / Financial Crime Advisor for their office in Athens, Greece.  

Position: AML / Financial Crime Advisor

Location: Athens, Greece 

Work model: On-site

Employment type: Full-time

Remuneration: Base salary

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze AML alerts according to defined priorities, regulatory requirements and client procedures

  • Conduct the necessary due diligence and identify required supporting documentation

  • Build clear and complete analysis files based on available information

  • Perform enhanced reviews of AML/CFT and financial risks

  • Analyze account statements and transaction activity

  • Investigate atypical operations and potential suspicious transaction patterns

  • Conduct clarification and homonym checks where required

  • Assess alerts based on predefined analysis scenarios and procedures

  • Make well-supported decisions and document the rationale accurately

  • Ensure cases are processed within defined timeframes and quality standards

  • Maintain accurate records and follow established compliance procedures

  • Work independently while collaborating effectively with the wider team.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Native or near-native German (C1+) and English at B2 level

  • Previous experience in AML, KYC, financial crime, banking or financial services is advantageous

  • Good general understanding of financial and banking systems

  • Knowledge of KYC and AML/CFT principles and practices

  • Ability to analyze account statements and transaction activity

  • Understanding of atypical transactions and suspicious activity patterns

  • Strong analytical and written communication skills

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to make objective, well-supported decisions

  • Ability to interpret procedures and apply predefined investigation scenarios consistently

  • Comfortable working with repetitive tasks in a fast-paced, target-driven environment

  • Good computer and general PC skills

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Flexibility to work rotational schedules when required.
