POSITION OVERVIEW
This is an opportunity for an experienced Professional Geologist to join a well-established environmental consulting firm with over 130 years serving the region. The role is based out of the Northeast PA-area office and manages projects across central and eastern Pennsylvania, combining strong technical and regulatory knowledge with hands-on project management responsibility.
Salary: Based on experience
Location: Athens, PA (managing projects across central and eastern PA)
Schedule: Monday through Friday, standard business hours (40-45 hours/week typical, with occasional weekend work), flexible hours with remote/hybrid schedule available

Our client is a long-standing environmental consulting firm with over 130 years of experience providing professional environmental services. Their Northeast PA-area team supports project work throughout central and eastern Pennsylvania, with a strong presence in oil and gas-related environmental consulting.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage all aspects of assigned projects, including proposal preparation, scope development, scheduling, budget tracking, and invoicing
- Maintain frequent communication with clients, subcontractors, regulatory agencies, and internal teams
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously in accordance with high standards of project management
- Develop and assist with proposals, scopes of services, cost estimates, and qualifications presentations
- Prepare project deliverables, including reports, permit applications, and work plans
- Coordinate field staff scheduling, laboratory coordination, and subcontractor/vendor management
- Oversee ongoing project cost control, forecasting, schedule updates, and reporting
- Interpret technical tables, graphs, data, and figures
- Train, mentor, and oversee junior staff
- Process submittals and maintain submittal logs
- Assist with meeting minutes and change order preparation
- Work safely in both office and field settings, with occasional out-of-town travel in all seasonal conditions
REQUIREMENTS
Required:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in geology, hydrogeology, environmental science, or a related field
- Active Pennsylvania Professional Geologist License
- 5-10 years of experience in hydrogeologic and/or environmental consulting
- Working knowledge of Pennsylvania's Land Recycling Act 2 Program and Phase I ESAs
- Strong technical writing skills with accurate QA/QC practices
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to work extended hours when needed
Preferred:
- Oil and gas industry experience
- Experience with AQTESOLV, Rockworks, and MODFLOW software
