Your Responsibilities
We are seeking experienced freelancers who are actively working in the creative industries and are able to teach, mentor, and guide students through applied, project-based learning in the following areas:
- Game Design
- Animation
- Visual Communication
- User Experience (UX/UI)
- Graphic Design
This role is ideal for professionals who wish to combine industry practice with academic teaching, without long-term employment obligations.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning Delivery
- Deliver lectures, workshops, and practical sessions at undergraduate and postgraduate level
- Teach industry-relevant tools, workflows, and methodologies
- Facilitate studio-based learning, critiques, and project reviews
- Guide students through hands-on assignments, case studies, and real-world briefs
Curriculum & Content Contribution
- Deliver teaching based on existing module descriptors and learning outcomes
- Adapt teaching materials to reflect current industry practices and trends
- Contribute examples from professional practice (projects, pipelines, tools)
- Support applied learning aligned with creative industry standards
Student Engagement & Mentoring
- Provide academic and practical guidance to students
- Support students’ professional development and portfolio building
- Participate in feedback sessions, critiques, and formative assessments
Assessment & Academic Support (where applicable)
- Assess student work based on predefined assessment criteria
- Provide constructive feedback aligned with academic standards
- Support moderation and quality assurance processes if required
Your profile
Subject Areas & Skills (One or More Required)
Game Design
- Game mechanics, gameplay systems, level design
- Unity / Unreal basics, prototyping, player experience
Animation
- 2D / 3D animation principles
- Storyboarding, character animation, motion design
- Industry tools (e.g. After Effects, Blender, Maya, TVPaint)
Visual Communication
- Visual storytelling, branding, typography
- Concept development and design systems
- User research, interaction design, wireframing, prototyping
- UX strategy, usability testing, design thinking
- Tools such as Figma, Adobe XD or similar
Graphic Design
- Layout, typography, branding, visual identity
- Editorial, digital, and campaign design
- Adobe Creative Suite expertise
Requirements
Mandatory
- Proven professional experience in one or more creative industry fields
- Ability to teach and communicate concepts clearly in English
- Availability for scheduled teaching periods (block teaching or weekly sessions)
- Legal right to work as a freelancer in Germany or EU (or ability to invoice internationally)
Professional & Technical Skills
- Strong practical knowledge of relevant industry-standard software
- Experience working on real-world projects or commercial creative work
- Confidence in teaching applied, hands-on content
